CHESS

Picture
Chess opened on Broadway April 28, 1988 at the Imperial Theater. Although it only lasted a few months, it was a seminal experience in my professional life. The selection here is the first song of the show. The music was written by Benny Andersson, Bjorn Ulvaeus, and Tim Rice. The show was directed by one of my favorites, Trevor Nunn.

DREAM MOUNTAIN

Picture
I have worked with Gary William Friedman on many projects. Why? I love the way he writes music, and I believe he likes the way I sing. Dream Mountain is a demo recording of a musical about the sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his master creation - Mt. Rushmore.

WINTER MAN

Picture
Another one of my favorite experiences. In Winterman I played a Jewish pioneer in the Kansas territory. It is loosely based on a real-life person, who eventually became Governor of Kansas. This beautiful song is by Andy Tierstein.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

Picture
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was just plain fun! We were all so much younger then. You had to be in order to dance the megamix. My daughter Hannah was also born during the Los Angeles run of the show. It was a great time.
